The Land of Leeghwater is a remarkable area of reclaimed land just above Amsterdam dating from the 17th century. This area is known for its polders and windmills. Under the supervision of hydraulic engineer Jan Adriaanszoon Leeghwater, lakes were drained using windmills. This is how Leeghwater turned water into land. That land is now a UNESCO World Heritage site with characteristic villages and endless natural beauty.
With its low alcohol content, our Session Pale Ale is an American interpretation of the classic English beer style Pale Ale. This American version is characterized by floral and fruity aromas, originating from the American hop varieties Mosaic and Ahtanum. These hops produce aromas of lime, orange and grapefruit. The beer has a clear and golden yellow color and a nice stable head. With its slightly bitter, floral and fruity taste, this Session Pale Ale is a beer suitable for every season.
Amsterdam Beer Company is a part of CONO Cheesemakers, a cooperative of more than 440 farmers. CONO produces quality cheeses and has the most sustainable cheese factory in the world. The malt that Brouwerij Leeghwater uses in the production of these craftbeers is then reused by the farmers to feed their cows. Cheers to that!
